Artifacts




Here are our 3 artifacts found @ the Ancient Civilizations Museum. They are all part of the Southeast Asia Gallery.

Artifact 1 : Procession Palanquin

Artifact 2 : Hilltribe Jewelry

Artifact 3: Dayak Baskets

Procession Palanquin :
These Palanquins originate from Bali and is used to deity figures (arca lingga) in various Hindu temple processions and ceremonies.

Hilltribe Jewelry :
These jewelry were made and worn by the various Hilltribe communities.

The jewelry were a way of investing a family's wealth while it is worn as a fashion accessory in modern days.

Dayak Baskets:
These baskets originate from Borneo. They are hand-weave with natural material like grass and bark. These baskets are both used for transporting items as well as decorative and aesthetic purposes.
